The team at SUP4DCA have decided to support Deaf Children Australia as their charity. Deaf Children Australia is a non for profit charity. Their aim is to provide children and young people who are deaf or hard of hearing, with the opportunities and skills to face life’s challenges. 

Deaf Children Australia's purpose is to remove barriers to the personal development and the social inclusion of children and young people who are deaf. Deaf Children Australia provides support to the whole family and offer ongoing care ranging from newborn hearing screening support, advocacy, parent support groups, parent and deaf youth mentoring programs, employment services, a national telephone help line, resources and recreational programs. Deaf Children Australia responds to the individual needs of children and their families regardless of their degree of hearing loss, communication method, educational setting, personal circumstances or additional disabilities.
 

Deaf Children Australia works hard to promote opportunities for families and children to:

• access unbiased information

• become more connected with each other

• participate in peer to peer support

• access community, recreational and youth activities

• engage individually tailored support

• develop skills in advocacy and relationship building 

 

Deaf Children Australia strives to provide high quality services and aim to constantly review and improve their ways of working with families.
