$81,658 RAISED FOR
DEAF CHILDREN AUSTRLIA

A huge thankyou to everyone who donated to SUP4DCA. Our fundraising total not only reached but it smashed our goal of $60k!! Every single cent has been handed over to Deaf Children Australia for their Video Outreach program

Where Has The Money Gone?

The donations collected by SUP4DCA have gone directly towards helping Deaf Children Australia’s (DCA) Video Outreach program.

This video conferencing program provides services to deaf and hard of hearing children and their families in remote and regional areas of Australia. Services are family centered and determined by individual needs. Service provision for families includes: education and educational support using Auslan (Australian Sign Language); enhanced family communication through developing skills in Auslan; therapy/counseling; diagnostic services; technological assistance, support and tuition; and mentoring and role modeling. All services are delivered by Deaf Specialists.

DCA’s Video Outreach is an effective model of outreach to isolated families and communities. Service provision is flexible, responsive and cost effective via Skype. The use of Skype almost eliminates the cost burden of travel and accommodation to regional and remote areas.

DCA’s Video Outreach program was previously known as VidKids and was supported with government. Unfortunately at the end of 2015 the government funding for VidKids ceased, leaving a DCA in financial need to continue their work.

SUP4DCA has directly allowed Deaf Children Australia to grow the new Video Outreach program and thereby assisted children with hearing loss and their families.
